This internal ballast system is what is responsible for the movement on and in the water. Buoyancy and depth are controlled by the water-pump, controlling the amount of water ballast.

Alongside this, the sensors can also catch other information. Once it is time to resurface, the loon copter pumps out the buoyancy chamber. The resurfacing is done by ejecting all the ballast water.
