MultCloud – A Manager to Backup FTP/MySQL and Transfer Between Cloud Drives

Hello Friends, Today I’m posting about  MultCloud. Precisely, MultCloud is not a cloud drive, but provides a service of transferring files between cloud drives. MultCloud is developed by AOMEI Technology in 2012. Four years passed, MultCloud has been updated to 3.6 with many changes and added many new functions. MultCloud supports MySQL since its 3.5 version. With the feature of backing up FTP and MySQL automatically, you can realize automatic backup your website files by MultCloud.

To backup FTP or MySQL files via MultCloud, you just need to input its server, username and password in MultCloud. Then MultCloud can help you move files to Dropbox, ownCloud or other popular cloud services. Notice that this needs your MySQL supporting telneting.

MultCloud supports clouds are: Dropbox, Google Drive, ownCloud, OneDrive, SugarSync, Amazon S3, Box, Copy, WebDav, MyDrive, WEB.DE, BaiDu, Flickr, FTP/SFTP, Amazon Drive, MediaFire, Alfresco, Hubic, CloudMe, Cubby, Yandex, HiDrive, ADrive, MySQL. As many as 24 clouds as of now.

Obviously, there are many advantages of using MultCloud. If you have many cloud drives, managing them together will make things easier. Transfer files across cloud services in MultCloud is simple and does not need download and then reupload.

How to use MultCloud?

Step 1: Visit MultCloud’s official website: https://www.multcloud.com/sign?method=up. Sign up and sign in or choose “Experience with signing up”. If you select the second way, MultCloud will provide you random username and password, and allow you to change them later.

Step 2: After logging in MultCloud, select cloud to add. Because the authorization system is based on OAuth, some cloud drives supports OAuth, such as Google Drive, OneDrive and Dropbox, when you add them into MultCloud you don’t need username and password. There will be a special page on their official website to let you authorize MultCloud to access your file.

Step 3: After adding, you can have many options to choose from the context menu alike in Windows explorer. For example: upload, preview, share, delete, create and so on.

Auto Backup MySQL/FTP with MultCloud

Add MySQL

Type a display name, enter server address, username and password. Note that you should have the authority to read and write files in FTP, otherwise, you can’t operate them. Since MultCloud can’t identify the volume of FTP, be sure that MultCloud has enough space.

Adding MySQL into MultCloud is same as adding FTP. Notice that your database needs to be accessible from our IP addresses, which are 209.126.%. You can create a new user through your database or host interface, the MySQL command is as follow:

GRANT SHOW DATABASES, SELECT, LOCK TABLES, RELOAD ON *.* TO [email protected]'209.126.%' IDENTIFIED BY 'password';

Your server may need to add a firewall rule with our IP addresses and access port(the default port is 3306) to access your databases normally.

Transfer between cloud drives

Click the Transfer button, you will be switched to “Transfer or Backup Service”. In this interface, you can set your transformation task in details.

Choose source cloud drive and destination cloud drive. “Options” window lets you set overwritten, filter and email notifier. Then click “Run Now” or “Schedule Later”. Transmissions can be checked in Task Manager. Move Files from Dropbox to OneDrive as an example.

Conclusion

After testing, I’m sure that MultCloud is safe. MultCloud won’t save our data and we can remove the cloud whenever we want. What’s more, MultCloud uses 256-bit AES Encryption for SSL in data transfer.
